...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of CENTRAL ARKANSAS, EASTERN
ARKANSAS, SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS, and SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS,
including the following areas, in CENTRAL ARKANSAS, Garland,
Grant, Lonoke, Prairie, Pulaski, and Saline. In EASTERN
ARKANSAS, Monroe and Woodruff. In SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS,
Arkansas, Bradley, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, and
Lincoln. In SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS, Calhoun, Clark, Dallas, Hot
Spring, and Ouachita.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through
Saturday. The rain will be heavy at times. Amounts of one to two
inches are expected with localized heavier amounts exceeding
three inches possible.

* With already saturated ground, it will not take much rain to
cause flash flooding issues.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Ouachita River At Camden affecting Calhoun and Ouachita Counties

Ouachita River At Thatcher L&D affecting Bradley...Calhoun and
Union Counties


River forecasts are based on current conditions and rainfall
forecasted to occur over the next 48 hours. During periods of
flooding...Evening forecasts are reissued with updated rainfall
forecasts.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Ouachita River At Camden.
* from late tonight until further notice...Or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 9:30 AM Thursday the stage was 24.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage late tonight and
continue to rise to near 33.5 feet by Wednesday morning.
* Impacts at 26.0 feet...Low lying pastures and timber land along
the river begins to flood. Sandy Beach Park at Camden starts to flood.
* Impacts at 28.0 feet...Sandy Beach Park and portions of the Riverwalk
area off of Washington Street are inundated.
* Impacts at 30.0 feet...State Highway 7 north of Camden floods, with
detours nearby. Portions of Sandy Beach Park will flood. Some county
roads north and east of Camden begin to flood.
* Impacts at 34.0 feet...Overbank flooding closes many roads. Harmony
Grove community has flood problems at this stage. Many low lying
roads are flooding with access to some residential areas by boat
only.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Ouachita River At Thatcher L&D.
* until further notice...Or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:30 AM Thursday the stage was 82.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 79.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue falling to near 82.5 feet before
rising to near 86.0 feet by March 1st.
* Impacts at 85.0 feet...There may be some County roads along the
river flooded, requiring lengthy detours. River is high and swift,
boaters should be very cautious. Access to many oil and gas rigs
will be by boat only. Levee gates should be closed.
