...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana and
Mississippi, including the following areas in southeast
Arkansas, Ashley and Chicot. In northeast Louisiana, East
Carroll, Morehouse, Richland and West Carroll. In Mississippi,
Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Holmes,
Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Noxubee,
Oktibbeha, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington, Webster, Winston
and Yazoo.

* Through Saturday evening

* Additional rainfall amounts of two to three inches are
expected, with locally higher amounts of up to 7 inches
possible, especially over northern portions of the ArkLaMiss
Delta region. This is on top of already saturated ground.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage is expected. Road closures and threats to structures
will occur in some locations. Area rivers and streams may rise
to levels not seen in decades. If encountering flooded roads,
remember to turn around, don't drown and be especially
cautious at night.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead

* At 941 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the
warned area, where soils are already very saturdated from heavy
rainfall over the past few days. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Greenville, Cleveland, Crossett, Leland, Hamburg, Hollandale, Lake
Village, Dermott, Eudora, Shelby, Shaw, Wilmot, North Crossett,
West Crossett, Avon, Scott, Mound Bayou, Metcalfe, Renova and
Boyle.

* Forecast...Heavy rainfall across the Tennessee and Cumberland River Valleys
continues to require increases out of Barkley and Kentucky flood control
reservoirs that flow into the Lower Ohio River. The river will now rise to
near 44.5 feet by Monday March 11th.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 44.3 feet
on Jan 13 2016.
* Impact...At 44.0 feet...Water is on the levees in the vicinity of
Arkansas City. Trailers should be evacuated from the hunting club
on Huntington Point Mississippi due to high water. All of the land
inside levee protection is inundated.
* Impact...At 42.0 feet...Water approaches the first structure at the
Donaldson Point Hunting Club in Bolivar County.
* Impact...At 41.0 feet...River cuts off access to the Oakley Grain at
Yellow Bend.
* Impact...At 40.0 feet...The low silt plain in front of Arkansas City

eleven homes are under water in the township.

* Over the past several days widespread rainfall amounts from five
to eight inches of rain have fallen over the area. Periods of
heavy rain from last night through today have caused flash
flooding. In addition, many rivers and streams are high and may
lead to additional flooding of homes and roadways.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Greenville, Cleveland, Indianola, Crossett, Leland, Ruleville,
Hamburg, Hollandale, Lake Village, Moorhead, Dermott, Eudora,
Shelby, Shaw, Drew, Rosedale, Wilmot, North Crossett, West Crossett
and Parchman.

Additional rainfall amounts from one to two inches are possible over
the next few hours. However, additional thunderstorms with heavy
rain may develop tonight in the warned area. Additional rainfall
amounts from two to six inches will be possible. Several homes were
flooded, in addition to numerous flooded or closed roads. Standing
water will continue across the warned area.
