...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH LATE FRIDAY
NIGHT...

The National Weather Service in Jacksonville has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of Florida and southeast Georgia,
including the following areas, in Florida, Alachua, Baker,
Bradford, Clay, Coastal Duval, Coastal Nassau, Columbia,
Gilchrist, Hamilton, Inland Duval, Inland Nassau, Suwannee,
and Union. In southeast Georgia, Appling, Atkinson, Bacon,
Brantley, Charlton, Clinch, Coastal Camden, Coastal Glynn,
Coffee, Echols, Inland Camden, Inland Glynn, Jeff Davis,
Pierce, Ware, and Wayne.

* From late tonight through late Friday night

* Widespread rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is expected late tonight
through Friday night with localized amounts of 3 to 4 inches
possible. Flooding is possible with some of the heavier amounts
given that soils are primed for runoff due to recent heavy
rainfall.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

All persons with interest along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...And be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. If you
see flood waters...Remember to turn around and do not drown.

* Flood Warning for
The Suwannee River At White Springs.
* from late Friday night until further notice...Or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 9:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 70.9 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 76.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early Saturday morning and
continue to rise to near 81.1 feet by early Sunday morning.
* Impact...At 81.0 feet...The potential exists for power interruption
to homes.
* Impact...At 80.0 feet...Area known as Suwannee Valley is inundated
and secondary roads are closed. Flooding begins at Stephen F.
Foster State Park.
* Impact...At 79.0 feet...Water begins to enter homes and secondary
roads become flooded.
* Impact...At 72.0 feet...Low lying roads along the river may begin to
flood. All public boat ramps will be closed.

The Suwannee River At Suwannee Springs.
* from Sunday evening until further notice...Or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 9:15 PM Wednesday the stage was 57.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 65.0 feet.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Sunday evening and continue to
rise to near 68.6 feet by Monday evening. additional rises are
possible thereafter.
* Impact...At 67.0 feet...Evacuation of some homes begins.
* Impact...At 65.0 feet...Low lying roads along the river will be
flooded and may be closed.
* Impact...At 61.0 feet...Low lying roads along the river may begin to
flood (including SW 79th Terrace). All public boats ramps will be
closed.
