...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM EST THIS MORNING
THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* A portion of northwest Georgia...including the following
areas...Bartow...Catoosa...Chattooga...Dade...Floyd...Gordon...
Murray...Polk...Walker and Whitfield.

* From 7 AM EST this morning through Friday morning

* Soil conditions remain very saturated and river levels remain
high across the area. With 2 to 6 inches of additional
precipitation expected across the area this will produce
significant runoff and flooding of creeks and rivers. Even after
the rain ends, high water could persist for several days after.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

The Flood Advisory continues for
The South Chickamauga Creek Near Chickamauga TN

* Until Tuesday afternoon
* At 09PM Monday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* The river will continue to rise to near 17.1 feet by tomorrow
morning.
* At 18.0 feet...Water begins to cross Mack Smith Road in Catoosa
County, Georgia. Flooding begins at golf courses near the
confluence of South and West Chickamauga Creeks. West Chickamauga
Creek begins to overflow its banks, as well.

The Clinch River Above Tazewell TN

* Until Tuesday afternoon
* At 09PM Monday the stage was 9.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* The river will continue to rise to near 11.2 feet by tomorrow
morning.
* At 12.0 feet...Flooding of pasture land near Grissom Island begins.
The city of Tazewell, Tennessee is not affected by flooding of the
Clinch River.

* At 08PM Monday the stage was 11.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* The river will continue to rise to near 13.9 feet by Thursday early
afternoon.
* At 14.0 feet...Flooding of agricultural land begins.
