Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Paducah KY
203 AM CST Thu Feb 21 2019

...More heavy rainfall Friday through Saturday...

Our brief respite in between the wet weather systems ends later
today. as rain chances return and begin to spread across the
region tonight and Friday. Showers and thunderstorms become more
numerous and widespread Friday night and Saturday, when the
heaviest rain and storm potential exists.

An additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is forecast with this
next round of rain and storms, with the heaviest amounts across
western Kentucky, particularly from the Land between the Lakes
area eastward toward Hopkinsville. Locally heavier amounts,
especially where thunderstorms occur, are possible.

With not much recovery time for our saturated grounds, we'll see
much of this incoming rainfall run off into already swollen water
systems. This will no doubt stress the hold capacity of many
creeks, streams, rivers, and their tributaries, prolonging
existing flooding as well as causing new flooding and in some
instances flash flooding.

Be prepared for this imminent return to wet weather, and heed all
flood signs and warnings if and when they are posted.
