...The flood warning continues for the following rivers in
Illinois...Missouri...Kentucky...

Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau...Thebes...New Madrid

.Along the Mississippi River, major flooding continues at Cape
Girardeau, moderate flooding continues at Thebes, and minor flooding
continues at New Madrid. Due to recent heavy rainfall, water levels
will remain nearly steady at Cape Girardeau between 43.1 and 43.5
feet through this week. Thebes will also remain nearly steady between
41.2 and 41.5 feet through this weeek. At New Madrid, the river is
slowly rising with a crest near 39.5 feet expected on Friday morning.
Flooding will continue at all three locations until further notice.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather

.Moderate flooding continues along the Big Muddy River near
Murphysboro. The river is now forecast to crest near 30.6 feet
Thursday morning. Flooding will continue until further notice.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
