...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in Indiana...

Wabash River...White River...


.Recent rounds of precipitation have led to river flooding on the
Wabash and White Rivers in western Indiana. Several more rounds of
rain are expected over the next week, which could lead to prolonged
or renewed flooding along waterways.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

evening.
* At 17.5 feet...Flooding closes Old Vincennes Road. High water
crosses SR 358 on the Daviess County side just west of the levee.
Flooding begins to affect higher bottomlands. Residential property

* At 14.0 feet...Lowland flooding is in progress. High water affects
river cabins near North 9th Street. Low county roads are nearly

* until Friday evening.
* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 17.6 feet. This is 2.0 to 2.5
feet higher than the observations from the old legacy gauge.
* Flood stage is 16.5 feet. This is 2.5 feet higher than flood stage
from the old legacy gauge.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...It will rise to near 18.1 feet by Wednesday evening then
begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Friday morning.
* At 18.5 feet...Lowest river cabins across from the Wabash Generating
Station begin to flood. Flooding of agricultural land along U.S. 63
north of Terre Haute, west bank of river and in southwest Vigo
County occurs. County roads flood in southwest Vigo County. The
wetland projects between U.S. 40 and I-70 begin to slowly fill.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...It is forecast to crest at 18.1 feet Monday afternoon
and will fall below flood stage by Saturday June 01.
* At 18.0 feet...Seep water occurs behind levees on Indiana side.
Hutson Creek begins to overflow from backwater. Old Darwin Road
and a few rural roads in eastern Clark and Crawford counties in
Illinois are impassable. Low agricultural land floods.

* At 18.0 feet...Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High
water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is
by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive

Wabash River at New Harmony

.Runoff from recent heavy rainfall has resulted in water levels
rising along the Wabash River at New Harmony. Minor flooding is
forecast with flood stage reached Sunday night. A crest of 15.1
feet is forecast Monday, before falling below flood stage
Tuesday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following waterways
in Indiana...

Wabash River...White River...


.Recent rounds of precipitation have led to river flooding on the
Wabash and White Rivers in western Indiana. Flooding at Lafayette
on the Wabash River will be ending this afternoon, Saturday May 25,
but the river will go back into flood Sunday night. This same
scenario will play out at Montezuma. The river level will
hold quasi-stationary above flood stage at Hutsonville and
Riverton through most of the week ahead. Vincennes is at
crest, slightly below flood stage. Mount Carmel is expected to
crest at flood stage Sunday night.

Several more rounds of rain are expected over the next week, which
could lead to prolonged or renewed flooding along waterways.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.
