...Several Days With Rain Chances...
...Soaking Rains Possible...

A cold front moving through the region tonight will stall over the
Tennessee Valley. The proximity to our area will mean continued
rain chances over the region Saturday and Sunday. Sunday night
the front will start lifting slowly north again into the Ohio
Valley, keeping our rain and thunderstorm chances up until
another cold front sweeps through Tuesday night or Wednesday.

The current forecast rainfall totals across the region would call
for areal averages of 2 to 4 inches of rain along the Ohio River,
and 3 to 5 inches possible south of a line from Tell City,
Indiana to Shepherdsville and Lexington in Kentucky. Given the
forecast heavier rain is still a few days out, there is some
uncertainty in exact locations for these higher amounts.

Current forecast guidance for area rivers indicates the mainsteam
rivers can handle this much rain, but smaller creeks and streams
may have issues, especially after we get through a couple of days
of moderate rains this weekend. Stay tuned for updates over the
weekend and the possible issuance of any Flood Watches.
