...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM EST THIS EVENING
THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Southeast Indiana, Northern Kentucky, and
Southwest Ohio, including the following areas, in Southeast
Indiana, Dearborn, Franklin IN, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland.
In Northern Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll,
Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In
Southwest Ohio, Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren.

* From 7 PM EST this evening through Sunday morning.

* Precipitation will move across the area starting this evening
and then taper off Thursday afternoon. Additional rounds of
precipitation will then move across the region through Sunday
morning. Total rainfall amounts through Sunday morning are
expected to be in the two to four inch range.

* Excessive rainfall will cause local rivers, creeks, and
streams to rise. Those near streams and rivers should be
especially cautious as streams and rivers can rise quickly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People in the watch area, especially those living in areas prone
to flooding, should be prepared to take action should flooding
develop. Monitor the latest forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Ohio River at Portsmouth
* until further notice.
* At 11 AM the stage was 51.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 50 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will continue to fall to a stage of 49.0 feet by tomorrow
morning. The river will rise again above flood stage Sunday to a crest
near 50.5 feet by Monday morning. Additional rises are possible after
this time.
* At stages near 53.0 feet, Water enters lower levels of homes in South
Portsmouth. Backwater flooding from the Ohio River worsens onto area
creeks, especially along the Ohio side of the river through Scioto and
Adams Counties. Flooding continues through stretches of Route 52.
Much of Portsmouth itself is protected by flood walls.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will continue to fall to a stage of 49.9 feet by tomorrow
morning. The river will rise again to flood stage Sunday evening to
crest near 50.5 feet on Monday. Additional rises are possible after
this time.
* At stages near 52.0 feet, Backwater flooding traveling up Red Oak
Creek near Ripley, Ohio results in flooding along and east of Cherry
Street, with water also approaching the Ripley Post Office.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Ohio River at Meldahl Dam
* until further notice.
* At 10 AM the stage was 52.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 51 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will continue to fall to a stage of 50.8 feet by tomorrow
morning. The river will remain just below flood stage near 51 feet
through Sunday and then rise to flood stage on Monday. Additional
rises are possible after this time.
* At stages near 53.0 feet, Water rises over Route 52 below the locks,
and backwater flooding continues along several creeks and streams in
Clermont and Brown counties in Ohio and Bracken and Pendleton Counties
in Kentucky. Portions of Route 52 in Ohio and low areas between Route
8 and the river in Kentucky are flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Ohio River at Cincinnati
* until further notice.
* At 11 AM the stage was 54.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 52 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will fall slightly through Friday but rise again to a
crest near 54.5 feet by Saturday evening. Additional rises are possible
after this time.
* At stages near 55.0 feet, Backwater flooding continues to affect much
of northern Kentucky, southwest Ohio and southeast Indiana. Low-lying
roads near the river continue to flood, with much of Anderson
Township, Ohio, the East End and California near the river affected.
Flooding begins to affect sections of Route 52 in southeast Hamilton
and Clermont Counties. Low-lying roads in Bromley and Ludlow also
flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Ohio River at Markland Dam
* from Friday evening to late Sunday night.
* At 10 AM the stage was 50.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 51 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river will rise above flood stage Friday before midnight and
continue to rise to near 52.3 feet by early Saturday afternoon. Additional
rises are possible after this time.
* At stages near 52.0 feet, Lowland roads near the river are flooded
including low-lying roads near Carrollton, Vevay, Warsaw and Florence.
Portions of Indiana Route 56 are flooded downstream of Vevay.
