* At 640 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* At 339 AM CST...Emergency Management estimates 1 to 3 inches of
rain has occurred over the past 3 hours. Showers and thunderstorms
will produce an additional 1 to 3 inches of rain over the next 3
hours.

...Heavy Rainfall and Flash Flooding Likely Through This
Evening...

.Widespread moderate rains early Saturday morning will give way
to to scattered moderate to heavy rainfall associated with
discrete showers and thunderstorms. By late Saturday morning,
thunderstorms will increase in coverage before organizing into an
eastward-moving squall line during the afternoon and early
evening. An additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall may occur today,
with isolated higher amounts associated with thunderstorms. Any
rainfall will worsen ongoing lowland and river flooding,
particularly over north Mississippi. Dry conditions are expected
across all the Midsouth by late this evening, and the dry
conditions will continue into early next week.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of East Arkansas, North Mississippi, Southeast
Missouri, and West Tennessee, including the following areas,
in East Arkansas, Crittenden, Cross, Lee, Mississippi,
Phillips, and St. Francis. In North Mississippi, Alcorn,
Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Coahoma, DeSoto, Itawamba,
Lafayette, Lee, Marshall, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss,
Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica,
Union, and Yalobusha. In Southeast Missouri, Pemiscot. In West
Tennessee, Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer,
Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry,
Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Shelby, Tipton, and
Weakley.

* Through this evening

* An additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is expected across the
watch area with isolated higher amounts.

* Street flooding will be a hazard for motorists. Low-lying and
poor drainage areas will be at risk for flash flooding, as
well as small streams.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

continue rising to near 26.5 feet by Saturday February 23. The
river will fall below flood stage Sunday February 24.
* At 27.0 feet...Several homes and businesses east of the creek are
flooding.
