.An additional round heavy rain will fall across the area through
this evening. Given the saturated ground conditions, additional
heavy rainfall will easily result in additional flash flooding for
much of the watch area.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana and
Mississippi, including the following areas in southeast
Arkansas, Ashley and Chicot. In northeast Louisiana, East
Carroll, Morehouse, Richland and West Carroll. In Mississippi,
Attala, Bolivar, Carroll, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Holmes,
Humphreys, Issaquena, Leflore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Noxubee,
Oktibbeha, Sharkey, Sunflower, Washington, Webster, Winston
and Yazoo.

* Through this evening

* Additional rainfall amounts of one to three inches are expected
through this evening, especially over northern portions of the
ArkLaMiss Delta region. This is on top of already saturated
ground.

* The flooding of roads, low lying areas, and areas with poor
drainage is expected. Road closures and threats to structures
will continue in some locations. Area rivers and streams may
rise to levels not seen in decades. If encountering flooded
roads, remember to turn around, don't drown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Chicot County in southeastern Arkansas...
Ashley County in southeastern Arkansas...
Sunflower County in northwestern Mississippi...
Washington County in northwestern Mississippi...
Bolivar County in northwestern Mississippi...

* Until 345 PM CST Saturday.

* Over the past several days widespread rainfall amounts from six to
nine inches of rain have fallen over the area. Periods of heavy
rain over the past 24 hours have caused flash flooding. In
addition, many rivers and streams are high and may lead to
additional flooding of homes and roadways.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Greenville, Cleveland, Indianola, Crossett, Leland, Ruleville,
Hamburg, Hollandale, Lake Village, Moorhead, Dermott, Eudora,
Shelby, Shaw, Drew, Rosedale, Wilmot, North Crossett, West Crossett
and Parchman.

Additional rainfall amounts up to two inches are possible in the
warned area through this afternoon and could worsen the high water
situation with numerous flooded or closed roads. Standing water will
continue across the warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

forecasts in the Tombigbee River Basin have an additional 48 hours of
rainfall added. Rainfall amounts greater than forecast may take the
rivers higher.

* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 27.5 feet Sunday
morning.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.3 feet
on Feb 26 2018.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet...Low lying streets along the river in the
city of Sunflower begin to flood.

* Forecast...Heavy rainfall, this week and an expected 3 inches of additional
rainfall over the next 48 hours, will cause the river rise to near
27.0 feet early Monday morning.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.3 feet
on Feb 26 2018.
* Impact...At 26.0 feet...Low lying streets along the river in the
city of Sunflower begin to flood.
* Impact...At 25.0 feet...Water begins to spread across farmland from
flooding at Jones Bayou. Widespread agricultural flooding is a
occurring in this area.
