* Flood Warning for...
Morgan County in east Tennessee...
Northern Anderson County in east Tennessee...
Southern Campbell County in east Tennessee...
Union County in east Tennessee...
Southern Scott County in east Tennessee...

* Until 115 PM EST.

* At 721 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clinton, La Follette, Maynardville, Wartburg, Plainview, Jacksboro,
Huntsville, Helenwood, Caryville, Lake City, Norris, Luttrell,
Sunbright, Norris Dam State Park, Rugby, High Point, Smokey
Junction, Rosedale, Rose Hill and Robbins.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

minor flooding in the advisory area.

Maynardville, Rutledge, Oliver Springs, New Tazewell, Bean Station,

The Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, including
the following areas, in East Tennessee, Anderson, Campbell,
Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson,
Morgan, Northwest Carter, Northwest Greene, Scott TN,
Southeast Carter, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, and Washington TN.
In Southwest Virginia, Lee, Russell, Scott, Washington, and
Wise.

* Through Sunday morning

* Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will overspread the region
through early Sunday. Additional rainfall accumulation of
around 1 to 2 inches is possible with localized amounts up to 3
inches.


* Given the already saturated soil and high stream flows, the
additional moderate to heavy rains will likely cause
significant stream flooding, roadway flooding, mud slides, and
main stem river flooding. Potentially life threatening
flooding is possible.

rain...which may lead to flooding in and near the watch area. Be

...Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Will Continue Into Saturday...

.Moderate to heavy rainfall continues to threaten as a slow
moving warm front traverses the region amidst a very moist
airmass. The front is expected to remain across areas along and
north of Interstate 40 through the early afternoon. A cold front
will move east Saturday night bringing additional period of
moderate to heavy rainfall. All said, additional flooding is
possible given already saturated ground and high stream flows.

Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson,
Morgan, Northwest Carter, Northwest Greene, Scott TN,
Southeast Carter, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, and Washington TN.
In Southwest Virginia, Lee, Russell, Scott, Washington, and
Wise.

* Through 4 AM EST Sunday morning.

* Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will overspread the region
tonight and through early Saturday afternoon. Additional
rainfall accumulation of around 1 to 2 inches is possible with
