...Periods of rain may produce flooding tonight through Wednesday
night...

.Two rounds of moderate to locally heavy rain are expected to
occur through Wednesday night. The first will arrive late this
afternoon and continue through tonight. The second will occur
Wednesday afternoon and evening. Total rainfall amounts during
this time are expected to range from one to three inches. With
the moist soil conditions and elevated river levels from recent
rainfall, conditions will be favorable for flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, including
the following areas, in East Tennessee, Anderson, Bledsoe,
Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, East Polk, Grainger, Hamilton,
Hancock, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, NW
Blount, Northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie,
Southeast Monroe, Union, and West Polk. In Southwest Virginia,
Lee and Wise.

* From 7 PM EST this evening through Thursday morning

* Multiple rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected
late today and tonight, then again on Wednesday evening.
Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected, which may
cause flooding due to the preceding wet ground conditions and
elevated river levels.

* Low lying and poor drainage areas will have the greatest risk
for flooding. Creeks, streams, and main stem rivers may also
flood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy
rain...which may lead to flooding in and near the watch area. Be
alert for rising water or water over roadways. Keep informed...
and be ready for action if flooding is observed or if a flood
warning is issued. If you come to a closed or flooded road...turn
around! Don't drown!
