...Periods of rain may produce flooding today through early
Thursday morning...

.Another round of rainfall will occur this afternoon and evening,
leading to possible flooding conditions again. Additional
rainfall amounts through Thursday morning are expected to range
from one to two inches. With saturated soil conditions and
elevated river levels from recent rainfall, conditions will be
favorable for flooding.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

The Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, including
the following areas, in East Tennessee, Anderson, Bledsoe,
Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, East Polk, Grainger, Hamilton,
Hancock, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, NW
Blount, Northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie,
Southeast Monroe, Union, and West Polk. In Southwest Virginia,
Lee and Wise.

* Through Thursday morning

* Another round of rainfall is expected later today in addition
to rainfall that fell yesterday. Additional rainfall amounts
of 1 to 2 inches are expected on top of what has already
fallen, which may cause flooding due to the saturated ground
and elevated river levels.

* Low lying and poor drainage areas will have the greatest risk
for flooding. Creeks, streams, and main stem rivers may also
flood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for heavy
rain...which may lead to flooding in and near the watch area. Be
alert for rising water or water over roadways. Keep informed...
and be ready for action if flooding is observed or if a flood
warning is issued. If you come to a closed or flooded road...turn
around! Don't drown!
