EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EST FOR DICKENSON...BUCHANAN...MCDOWELL...SOUTH
CENTRAL KANAWHA...SOUTHEASTERN MINGO...RALEIGH...SOUTHEASTERN
LOGAN...WYOMING...FAYETTE AND SOUTHEASTERN BOONE COUNTIES...

While the heavy rain threat has ended, continued runoff will result
in lingering high water near creeks and streams. Local law
enforcement report some roads closures across the warned area,
particularly across southwest Virginia. In addition, the larger
creeks will experience strong rises, that may result in bankfull
being exceeded.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Welch, Clintwood, Grundy, Haysi, Breaks Interstate, Davenport,
Mullens, Oceana, War and Northfork.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Please report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling
toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

You may also report flooding by posting your report to the Charleston
West Virginia National Weather Service Facebook Page, or by using the
Twitter Hashtag, NWSRLX.
