URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...Accumulating snow showers through this evening followed by
bitterly cold wind chills overnight..

.A strong cold front will cross the region this morning. Increasing
northwest winds combined with moisture will result in upslope
snow showers through tonight. The strong winds and cold
temperatures late tonight will produce wind chills below zero at
times.

...WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM
EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills
will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed
skin. Expect wind chills to range from 5 above zero to 5 below
zero.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest and west central Virginia,
northwest North Carolina and southeast West Virginia.

* WHEN...From midnight tonight to 9 AM EST Wednesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northwest winds will also be gusting as
high as 45 mph, especially this evening. Around an inch or less
of snow will be possible with isolated 2 inch amounts along the
ridges.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
